St. John the Baptist S.A.V.E.S.
School Advocates the Value of Early Saving
S.A.V.E.S. is a partnership between St. John the Baptist School and Parish Federal Credit Union to teach good saving and spending habits. Each student in the S.A.V.E.S. program has an account at Parish Federal Credit Union which earns dividends and incentives. The program offers real life experiences for the student to practice goal setting, financial responsibility, and good saving and spending habits.
As of 4/25/2012, there are 119 St. John SAVES students and 1,870 deposits have been made this school year!

Classroom Contest
Congrats to Mrs. Radtke's 5th grade students on winning!
A classroom pizza party and a $25 teacher gift card will go to the class with the most deposits on December 7th.
We calculate the number of deposits vs. the number of students in the classroom. The best percentage wins!
Individual Incentives
Students receive rewards with each deposit and the following incentives:
Ice Cream
Make 3 deposits by October 19th ~ 86 students earned ice cream!
Make 8 deposits by February 1st ~ 82 students earned ice cream!
Make 12 deposits by May 16th
Jean Day Pass
Make 5 deposits by November 30th ~ 88 students earned a jean day!
Make 10 deposits by March 28th ~ 71 students earned a jean day!
Savings Challenge
Earn a $10 reward by making at least 23 deposits by May 30th! ~ 39 Students earned $10!
8th Grade Tellers
Each year, 8th grade students experience being a credit union student teller. The students have job training, office tours, and the hands-on experience of entering the transactions in the credit union's data processing system and reconciling their transactions. The skills developed will contribute to future educational and employment endeavors.
Fun and Informative Games and Activities
This online game allows players to manage a virtual checkbook and poses "cause and effect" scenarios to demonstrate the impact choices have on finances.
