In his recent Encyclical Letter, Pope Benedict XVI addresses the current economic crisis and praises credit unions:

“Solidarity is first and foremost a sense of responsibility on the part of everyone with regard to everyone. . . It is clearly a specific and profound form of economic democracy. . .Right intention, transparency and the search for positive results are mutually compatible and must never be detached from one another. If loveis wise, it can find ways of working in accordance with provident and just expediency, as is illustrated in a significant way by much of the experience of credit unions.”

Your credit union board takes its responsibility very seriously,always striving to put into concrete action the “right intention, transparency, and search for positive results” that Pope Benedict notes are experienced in credit unions.
Each day your Parish Credit Union staff demonstrates the “wise love” that Pope Benedict speaks of in helping members to make the wisest use of their own finances with real concern for the benefit of all within our financial cooperative.

As a lifelong credit union advocate, I am pleased that Pope Benedict recognizes the positive benefits of credit unions. As your CEO, I’m proud to be part of your Parish Federal Credit Union where we experience economic democracy every day.
