St. John the Baptist School & Parish Federal Credit Union believe that development of early savings habits is an important part of a child's education. We joined together to create the S.A.V.E.S. Program because St. John the Baptist School Advocates the Value of Early Savings.

Each child's S.A.V.E.S. account earns dividends and incentives. The program offers real life experiences for the student to practice goal setting, financial responsibility, and good saving and spending habits.

72 students are actively saving this school year with the S.A.V.E.S. Program!!

 

8th Grade Tellers

Each year, 8th grade students apply to fulfill student teller positions at St. John the Baptist School with the S.A.V.E.S. Program. During their experience, they met with a credit union staff member each Friday morning to determine the amount of each deposit, complete a voucher for each deposit, and reconcile daily voucher totals with the daily cash total. These students then had the hands-on experience of entering the transactions in the credit union's data processing system. During the 2008-2009 school year, the student tellers processed over 900 deposits. The skills developed during the course of this year-long program will contribute to future educational and employment endeavors. We at Parish Federal Credit Union greatly appreciate our 8th grade student teller commitment to the S.A.V.E.S. Program.

Thank you to the following 8th grade students that volunteered for the role of credit union teller this year. They have demonstrated a mature level of responsibility, not only in accuracy, but also in reliability and cooperation. We know that responsibility, integrity, and the other skills practiced in this program will help them in the future. 10 deposits by May 14th - Pizza Lunch - 45 Students received Pizza Lunch!!

Earn a $10 reward and a Fritzie Freeze coupon by making at least 15 deposits with at least 1 each month September through May.

There were 945 total deposits from S.A.V.E.S. students during the school year! Way to go!
